HIP HOP CONSULTING COMMITTEE (HHCC) KICKS OFF FORUM SERIES WITH PANEL OF HIP HOP PIONEERSApril 24th 2013-Bronx, New York - A Bronx organization known as the Hip Hop Consulting Committee (HHCC) hosted it’s first in a series of Hip Hop forums Wednesday evening. The event, entitled The History and Evolution of Hip Hop, was a panel discussion featuring Rock n Roll Hall of Fame Recipient Grandmaster Melle Mel, Legendary Grandmaster Caz, WoHH Youth Ambassador Nene Ali, Graffiti legend Lava “Straightman” Mercado, and the Education Director of the Hip Hop Dance Conservatory Yvonne Chow. Each panel member represented a different element of hip hop culture; MC, DJ, Graffiti, and Bboy. The panel was hosted by Pope Jackson & moderated by Joseph Sanchez.
The purpose of the forum was to create awareness of the birthplace and history of Hip Hop as well as to bridge the gap between both the pioneers and today's Hip Hop enthusiasts. Guests enjoyed an intimate evening with the panelists, hearing first hand accounts about their roles in the foundation of hip hop as well as their current projects. Attendees left inspired and were eager to spread the word about HHCC's movement, Windows of Hip Hop.
